It's been a busy week on the farm, not least because Natasha was invited into BBC Northampton to talk about Vegan Fest. Click on the image below to hear the interview:
A Festival of Vegan Treats
Vegan Fest 4 took place in Northampton last Saturday, with plenty of Vegan stalls and sellers and a Sushi demo from our very own Loving Chef. After the demonstration, children from the audience stepped up to have a go themselves. I think there was homemade sushi for tea in a number of households on Saturday night (it certainly was in ours!).
Watch our short highlights video here.
We're at Rushden Lakes on September 16th
Sol Haven has a pop-up stall at White Stuff, Rushden Lakes on September 16th, from 11am to 4pm where we'll be showcasing our soaps and candles as well as the Loving Chef making a guest appearance! Come and support us as we (in turn) will be supporting the Young Carers Association on the day.
Book Signing at the Farm!
The Bouncing Chef joined up with the Loving Chef this week as Sol Haven hosted a special book signing for the lovely Detox Retreat crew, flying in from Spain to make use of the farm. The book is amazing and the retreat is incredible. Check it out here: www.d-toxd.com
Fancy making some Vegan Sushi?
It's so simple. You'll need some seaweed Sushi Nori, hummus, cauliflower, cucumber, celery, red pepper, carrot, lime and soy sauce.
Apply some hummus (or mashed up avocado) to the bottom edge of the Sushi Nori.
Grate some cauliflower to make the raw vegan rice and add on top of the hummus, so it sticks in place.
Chop the vegetables finely and add on top of the cauliflower rice.
Fold over the Nori to keep all of the ingredients together in a roll shape.
Sprinkle over the lime juice.
Apply the soy sauce to the end of the Nori sheet to stick it in place.
Use a sharp knife to chop the roll into individual Sushi Nori and you're good to go.
These are great fun to make with the kids and they'll love the flavours too.
Be Involved in Our Open Day
We'll be running an open day soon at the farm to showcase the wonderful work being done by our friends in the community and how we can cater for events in the Yurt. So if you would like to showcase your own talents, get in touch. Perhaps you are a yoga instructor or a massage therapist and would like to showcase your wonderful healing skills? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know how you can contribute.
Soap & Candle Subscriptions (only 132 days until Christmas!)
Our soap and candle subscriptions are available on a 3 month, 6 month or yearly basis. So if you would like to be a part of our mission to help the homeless and smell beautiful too (plus they are all Vegan and the ingredients are all grown here on the farm), then click on the link below.
